Sportsbike will be TVS' most expensive offering.
While reports started to come in earlier this year, TVS has officially confirmed that it will launch the new iterant of its famous TVS Victor, along with a "high-powered premium" bike this year.
It is likely that the high-powered bike is set to be the first to be rolled out of the TVS-BMW deal that was inked in the middle of 2013. At the announcement, both companies maintained that the first low-capacity motorcycle of the joint venture will hit the markets late in 2015. It seems like the two motorcycle manufacturers have managed to stick to the promised schedule. This is impressive, on the back of TVS said to be delaying new launches thanks to increased sales of present models.
If not, TVS had mentioned about launching a "new Apache" inspired by the Draken-X21 concept presented at the Auto Expo 2014, which could be the vehicle in question.
The reborn TVS Victor, meanwhile, has been spied testing a couple of times. The Victor is said to feature the 110 cc EcoThrust engine that powers the Star City+ and will likely be offered as a more premium offering than the Star City+, thereby sitting neatly between the former and the Phoenix 125 in terms of pricing.
TVS registered a healthy growth of around 5 lakh units in sales in 2014-15, compared to the previous fiscal with sales standing at 24.09 lakh units against 19.93 lakh units for 2013-14.
