TVS has announced that a 'new' Apache will be launched towards the last quarter of this year.
Keeping up with its schedule of launching a new product in every quarter, TVS Group's chairman Venu Srinivasan announced during the launch of the TVS Star City+ in Chennai that the new Apache will be launched towards the final quarter of this calender year.
Speaking during the same launch, Vinay Harne, head of New Product Development for TVS, divulged to IAB that some of the features shown on the Draken concept that was showcased at the Auto Expo 2014 will make it to the Apache, without sharing which features exactly.
The Draken concept, the company maintains is about thematic evolution, maintaining a progressive link to the established Apache RTR’s design language. It also includes a structural sub-frame, short tail, full LED headlamp with daytime running lights and ABS. A full function active matrix digital speedometer, offset mono-shock suspension along with a reversed free flow exhaust unit complete the picture.
While daytime running lights and offset monoshock suspension are more likely to come into the production model Apache, features like the structural sub-frame and side-mounted exhausts are unlikely to be cost-effective.
