The 200cc engine is not an all-new unit, reportedly.
MotorBeam has posted a patent image which shows the design of the TVS Apache RTR 200, which is scheduled to have its market launch on January 20, 2016. CarBlogIndia however claims these are the specifications of TVS's Bajaj Pulsar RS200-rival.
First up, the engine in question which is a 200 cc single-cylinder, oil-and-air-cooled engine is reported to be a modified version of the Apache RTR 180's unit. According to the report, this engine will excel in the NVH department while also offering a sporty exhaust note.
The carburetor unit will be good for 26 PS and 22 Nm of torque, and will be paired to a 5-speed manual unit, the report adds. Further, stopping power will come from a 270 mm petal disc up front and a 250 mm petal disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS being part of the optional kit.

Riding on a Double Cradle Synchro Stiff chassis, the Apache RTR 200 will get telescopic forks up front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. Riding on 90/90 tyres up front, the Apache 200 will be shod with 130/70 tyres at the back, of the TVS SriChakra brand. The new Apache will weigh 140 kg, according to the report.
