The Storme facelift's engine will be retuned for higher power and torque.
Seen here are the first interior spyshots of the forthcoming Tata Safari Storme facelift.
The first and obvious change is the new 3-spoke steering wheel of a similar design to the Zest and Bolt. Tata has ditched the oversized four-spoke steering wheel for a shorter diameter unit, which also gets integrated controls for the music system.
Up next is the center console which now gets a silver insert, and a new music system capable of Bluetooth, AUX-in and CD/MP3. Tata has also opted for light beige inserts for the dashboard, where the current model features a faux-wood finish. The same goes for the gearlever which is pasted with a silver insert.
According to reports, Tata would offer optional Captains chairs and a front-facing third row bench on the Storme facelift. Interior changes aside, the Storme facelift will get a new Land Rover like grille and a mesh type design for the airdam.
Mechanically, the 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine on the Storme facelift will be retuned to produce 160 PS and 400 Nm of torque, which represent a 20 PS and 80 Nm increase over the current model.
The Safari Storme facelift is expected to launch in a couple of weeks according to certain reports.
