Gets a 155 cc carbureted air-cooled engine.
After displaying the soon-to-be-launched Suzuki Let's at the 2014 Colombo Motor Show, Suzuki Motors Lanka Ltd., has announced that it will launch the new Suzuki Gixxer naked motorcycle in the Sri Lankan market in a few months time.
The made-in-India Gixxer has started off strongly in the sub-continent, rivaling the Yamaha FZ FI V2.0 series. The brawny street fighter will be positioned above the GS150R and derives certain design cues from the famous GSX-R1000.
The motorcycle stands out with a scultpted fuel tank, meaty tyres, twin exhausts that are housed in a single canister, body colored grab rails and a minimalistic headlamp design.
The powerplant is a 155 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which breathes via a conventional carburetor to develop 14.8 PS (14.59 bhp) at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The motor is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox.
In terms of equipment, the Gixxer gets a fully digital dashboard, LED taillights and telescopic fork front and monoshock rear suspension. While the front wheel gets a standard disc brake there is no rear disc brake even as an option.
