The Suzuki Gixxer will be launched in Indonesia this year. The bike, in Indonesia, will take on competition from the Yamaha FZ-16, called the Byson.
A report on otomotif.kompas says that it is still unsure if the bike will be imported into Indonesia from India as a CBU or as in CKD kits. Importantly, the report also reveals the Gixxer's performance figures for the first time.
The report says that the Gixxer's single-cylinder 150 cc engine will produce 13.9 PS and 13.4 Nm of peak torque. Suzuki's other 150 cc bike, the GSR150R also has similar performance figures of 13.8 bhp at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 13.4 Nm at 6,000 rpm. However, given that the Gixxer will use the Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP), it is likely to extract more mileage from the engine.
The Gixxer made its debut in India just before the Auto Expo 2014, alongside the Suzuki Let's. While the Let's was launched in Chennai last month, the Gixxer is yet to hit the markets. Last time we heard from Suzuki India, the Gixxer's market rollout was scheduled in August.
Indonesia will not be the only foreign destination for the Gixxer as it has already been green lit for Brazil.
