Select Suzuki dealerships have started to accept the bookings for the Gixxer SF 250 for a token amount of INR 10,000. The price is slightly higher than what we had expected (INR 1.5-1.7 lakh). However, do note that Suzuki is offering more performance than the Yamaha Fazer-25. The power figure is on par with that of the Honda CBR250R.

The 249 cc oil-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-valve, SOHC engine on the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 delivers 26.5 PS and 22.6 Nm of peak torque. The motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox. The Honda CBR250R’s 249.60 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-valve, DOHC engine also churns out 26.5 PS and a marginally higher 22.9 Nm of peak torque. The Yamaha Fazer-25’s 249 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder, 2-valve, SOHC power mill makes 20.9 PS and 20 Nm.

The feature list of the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 will include LED headlight, LED tail lamp and a full-fairing design. The details about the instrument console are scarce, but we expect the motorcycle to pack a full-digital screen to display all ride-related information.

Suspension and braking setup, too, is similar to that of its rivals. Shock absorption department includes conventional telescopic front forks and mono suspension at the back. Stopping power comes from single discs at the front and rear while the safety net, like that the Honda CBR250R and the Yamaha Fazer-25, includes dual-channel ABS.

The ergonomics of the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 are on the sportier side. The motorcycle uses clip-on style handlebar to perform the steering duties and offer a forward-leaning riding position.

In terms of styling, the Gixxer SF 250 features a 12-litre fuel tank that features pronounced recesses to lock in the knees while cornering. The split-style, step-up seat and the twin pillion grab rail further enhance the sporty persona of the motorcycle. The Gixxer SF 250 also uses a Gixxer 155-style twin exhaust with chrome tips and heat shield.
