Regular Indian Autos Blog readers know that TVS is testing a new automatic scooter which would be positioned at the top of the firm's scooter portfolio.
The new scooter is based on the TVS Wego but is slightly bigger and upmarket. The idea is to provide an apt product to male customers who generally look for a bigger vehicle.
Here is a spyshot of the scooter from a Team-Bhp.com's forum member "Shiju.Dba" snapped in Koramangala, Bengaluru.
The yet to be named two wheeler is expected to carry the same 110cc engine as the Wego. The motor develops 8 bhp and 8 Nm of torque. It is also expected to inherit features like the alloy wheels and the front disc brake from the Wego, although none of the test mules spotted so far used the disc brake.
Just like the Wego, the new scooter has telescopic front suspension and a single shock absorber unit in the rear. The fuel filler cap is located outside, just above the taillight, so that the seat need not be opened for a refill.
As far as the looks are concerned, we can't help but think about the striking similarity between the new TVS scooter and the segment kingpin Honda Activa. The Activa has managed to appeal to both men and women alike and maybe that is what TVS expects this product to do.
The rigorous testing suggests that the scooter is just a few months away from its launch.
