The Fluidic Hyundai Elantra which was launched back in 2010 is getting ready for a mid-life refresh.

The fifth generation of the car adopted the Fluidic Sculpture design language and became an instant hit and went on to strengthen Hyundai's market share in the US. The car has been well received in India too.

Caranddriverbrasil.uol.com.br presents us these set of spyshots that are taken in South Korea, Hyundai's home country. The heavily camouflaged test mule reveals little, but we can say that the head and tail lamps get new detailing.

The overall shape of the car is left undisturbed and that's a good thing. We expect the Elantra facelift to have a reprofiled bumper and fog lamps. The interior could get a minor revision as well.

Being a facelift, the powertrain lineup is most likely to continue unaltered. The India spec Hyundai Elantra is powered by a 126 bhp 1.6 litre CRDI diesel engine and a 147 bhp 1.8 litre petrol engine. Both the engines are offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The mid-life refresh is expected to help the Hyundai Elantra to keep up pace with the rivals. In India, the soon to be launched 2013 Skoda Octavia will be the main rival. The Renault Fluence facelift is also expected to reach our shores to lock horns with the Elantra.
