The Royal Enfield Classic 350 recently gained the Redditch colour range.
The Royal Enfield brand has slowly emerged as one of the fastest growing motorcycle brands in the country. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 has overtaken the Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle in the month of January 2017 in terms of total domestic sales.
According to figures published by SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers), the royal Enfield Classic 350 recorded sales of 39,391 units in January 2017. In comparison, the Bajaj Pulsar brand saw 36,456 units moving out from its dealerships. That’s a difference of 2,935 units.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 with its retro-modern design is a hit amongst the youth. At the heart of the machine is a 346 cc single cylinder, twin spark, air cooled mill which is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The carburetted mill is capable of producing 19.8 bhp of maximum power at 5,250 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm.
The Bajaj Pulsar brand, on the other hand, includes motorcycles with an engine displacement ranging from 135 cc to 220 cc. These include the Pulsar 135 LS, Pulsar 150, Pulsar 180, Pulsar 220, Pulsar RS200 and now also the Pulsar 200NS. Bajaj Auto has believed in providing affordable performance with the Pulsar brand. All these products though comply with the upcoming BSIV emission norms which will be compulsory for all manufacturers from April 1, 2017.
The recent demonetization of high-value currency notes in the country has also impacted Bajaj Pulsar adversely while Royal Enfield, a more lifestyle brand, has been largely unaffected. In fact, it has emerged as the fourth largest selling motorcycle brand in India ahead of TVS.
