Renault has showcased a design study at Sao Paulo Motor Show based on Renault Duster, called the DCross.

The DCross was designed by Renault's Brazilian design team and could inspire the facelift of Renault Duster which now has the company of freshly arrived Ford EcoSport.

The Duster was unveiled as a Renault last year, and needs a facelift to continue its victory march in emerging markets where it is a big hit.

Here is the rendering of the Renault Duster facelift created by Mr. Andres, a reader of Noticiasautomotivas.com.br. The headlamps on the rendering have a kink and the overall shape is intergrated into the grill design just like the DCross concept.

The DCross sports a futuristic front bumper with big scruff plate and narrow rectangular fog lamps which could find its way into the facelifted Duster. The DCross concept also had new tail lamps which now fills the void that exists on the tailgate beside the tail lamps.

The new roof rails accommodate the spare wheel but this feature is unlikely to be carried to the facelifted Duster as its impractical. As per the rendering, the new headlamp shape certainly spruces up the crossover's looks and adds style quotient to the front fascia.

Renault has not announced any immediate plans for facelifted Duster but the DCross is a positive signal of the facelift being in the works.
