The Proton P2-30A will be powered by a VVT petrol engine.
As the Proton P2-30A slowly approaches its D-Day, more details are surfacing online. Keretamoto has uploaded what appears to be a leaked features list of the 'Proton Compact Car' (PCC).
While engine options still remain a mystery, the leaked document indicates that it will breathe via VVT (Variable Valve Technology). The hatchback which is rumored to be called as the Proton Iriz is the first product by the Malaysian automaker to be equipped with electric power steering (EPS).
The motor will employ a Bosch Engine Management System (EMS) and will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT (automatic). The body shell's crash worthiness is enhanced by Proton's RESS (Reinforced Safety Structure) technology.
The P2-30A is suspended by regular McPherson struts upfront and a torsion beam axle at the rear. The extensive safety equipment include 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, TCS, ESC, HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist) and HHA (Hill Hold Assist).
Other features include a multimedia infotainment system with navigation, service reminder, keyless entry, power windows with anti-pinch function for the driver, reverse parking sensor and camera, and a smart alternator.
The hatchback has been spotted testing several times and the company has already teased the headlamp of the car. The first global product from Proton has reportedly cost the company around RM 300 million (around INR 575 cr).
