The P2-30A, which is rumored to go on sale as the Proton Iriz, reportedly cost the maker in the tune RM 300 million (nearly INR 570 crores) to develop. In fact, according to Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Proton's chairman, the small car will cost more (than its competition) as the quality of materials used are of better standards. While Proton is traditionally associated as a low-cost car maker, their upcoming offering, according to the company, will of global standards.

The P2-30A will also go on sale in European markets where it will primarily rival the VW Up!. Based on the leaked images showing the front and rear fascias of the car, our artist Shoeb, came out with an accurate rendering of the new Proton.

Of course, given that Proton does not exist in India, and the car maker has announced no plans to enter our country, the P2-30A will not be seen on our roads.

Competitors: Hyundai i10, Honda Brio, VW Up!
