Mitsubishi's future crossover-MPV imagined in road-ready avatar.
At the 2016 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, Mitsubishi Motors debuted the Mitsubishi XM concept, the company's vision for a crossover-styled MPV. Its production version's testing started last year, and now, a rendering created by RBAdesign previews the vehicle in production guise.
The Mitsubishi XM seen in the rendering retains the company's Dynamic Shield front-end of the concept version, albeit in a toned-down form. The windshield, headlamps, radiator grille, front bumper, front fog lamps, roof rails, ORVMs, rocker panels and wheels all are conventional, in a road-ready avatar. The production version will have 80% similarity to concept version.
Mitsubishi Motors has confirmed that the production Mitsubishi XM will have a 7-seat layout and offer ample interior space. Reports say that the crossover-MPV will ride on an all-new platform. Under the hood, the company will place a 1.5-litre petrol burner. The transmission will send power to the front wheels. The company won't offer a diesel engine or an all-wheel drive system in this model.

The Mitsubishi XM will rival the Toyota Sienta and will reportedly go on sale in Indonesia in October 2017.
