Based on the earlier sightings of the next-gen 2020 Hyundai i20, IAB's master designer Shoeb Kalania has come up a rendering which showcases its expected design.

Hyundai I20 2020
The next-gen Hyundai i20 will arrive by mid-2020 (May-August 2020).

The rendering shows that the new-gen Hyundai i20 will go through an extreme makeover. From the looks of it, we can say that it will be updated from bumper to bumper. At the front, it will have a completely new grille which will be wider and longer in shape and flanked by new headlamps which have grown slightly curvaceous and comprise DRLs running across the baseline. On the lower side, its front bumper has been restyled and now has new circular foglamps in all-black triangular housing, which is in a similar design as seen on the 2019 Hyundai Elantra.

On the sides, the all-new Hyundai i20 will have a prominent shoulder line running wide across the body stretching between the headlights and the tail lights. Rest it will have a similar beltline, greenhouse and tailgate. The headlights and tail lights both will likely be LED units. The overall shape and size of the car will remain more or less the same, and like the outgoing model, the stance will be wide and low.

The all-new Hyundai i20 will likely sit on an upgraded version of the current car's platform. On the inside, it will be far more feature-rich and will have a more elegantly designed dashboard and more comfortable seats. Furthermore, it will also have some major elements borrowed from the recently launched Hyundai Venue like the steering wheel, the floating touchscreen infotainment system and the instrument cluster. This component sharing will prove to be fruitful in saving the development and manufacturing costs. Also, new in the feature list will be the Blue Link suite connectivity application.

The next-gen Hyundai i20 will be available with two engine options, a BS-VI 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine and a BS-VI 1.4L turbocharged diesel engine. The petrol engine will be available with a 5-speed MT or a CVT, while the diesel engine will be paired with a 6-speed MT.
