Production for export markets has already started.
According to a report on Autocar India, Honda Cars India will offer the new Jazz with a CVT option on the petrol model. The Jazz, which was originally supposed to launch in India in the first quarter of this calendar year, is expected around the June-July period.
For the Indian market, the hatchback will be powered by a 1.2-liter petrol engine and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. The latter, which is seen on the Amaze, Mobilio and City, can produce up to 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque, and is tuned for high fuel economy on all these cars.
The petrol engine will be borrowed from the Brio, and should be good for 88 PS. While the standard transmission will be a 5-speed unit, a CVT gearbox will be available as an option. This CVT unit is reported to be carried over from the more expensive City. However, it remains to be seen if the Jazz CVT gets paddle-shifters like the City CVT.

Unlike the previous Jazz which suffered from poor sales in India owing to its high pricetag, the new Jazz is expected to be 90 percent localized in India, with production having already started for exports to South African markets.
