Shares platforms with the new Honda City.
According to GaadiWaadi, production of the new Honda Jazz has already started at Honda Cars India's (HCI) plant in Rajasthan. The website reports that around 600 vehicles have been manufactured, and that a launch is expected around March 2015.
It is indeed logical for HCI to make the new Jazz at its Rajasthan plant as production of the City also takes place here, and the Jazz and City (based on the same platform) are expected to share several components.
Like the City, the Jazz diesel will be powered by the 1.5-liter four-cylinder i-DTEC diesel engine which has 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque. Unlike the City though, the Jazz will not get the larger and more powerful 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol unit. Honda will instead use their 1.2-liter petrol engine (which allows the Jazz to be classified as a 'small car' by Indian standards), which makes 88 PS and 109 Nm of torque.

Already available in international markets, the premium hatchback measures 3,955 mm in length, 1,695 mm in width, 1,525 mm in height and 2,530 mm in wheelbase.
