Expected to launch in June 2015.
Honda Cars India has turned its attention towards pre-launch activities for the Jazz ahead of its anticipated touch down in June-July 2015. The company had originally planned to put the car on the market in the first quarter of this calender year.
Production constraints from the City and Amaze variants persisting, the Jazz launch had to been pushed to mid-2015. Honda's global hatchback is based on the new City’s platform, and will be equipped with the 1.5-liter diesel engine and the 1.2-liter petrol engine. To keep prices competitive, Honda will heavily localize the model, whose production has already begun exclusively for South African exports in Tapukara, Rajasthan since January.
Even though the previous Jazz was one of the best selling hatchbacks in the world, its high asking price and lack of a diesel option resulted in its discontinuation in India in early 2013. Since then, the premium hatchback segment has grown, fueled by the rising sales figures of the Maruti Swift and the Hyundai i20.

With the re-introduction of the Jazz, Honda will bank on the car's styling, space, engine lineup, and pricing to tap into the segment, and help improve upon the 41% growth it witnessed for FY 14-15.
