The Bajaj Dominar 400 facelift has been spied yet again, this time near Talegaon. The 2019 Dominar 400 will feature several cosmetic as well as functional upgrades.
Yesterday we reported about the commencement of the road testing of the updated Bajaj Dominar 400. The 2019 Dominar 400 will receive various updates to its mechanicals like new USD front forks, redesigned rear-view mirrors, twin-pod exhaust canister and possibly an updated instrument cluster as well. On the 2019 iteration, the front disc has been moved to the left side as a result of the inverted forks.
Earlier this week, a walkaround video of the 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 was leaked while on test in the Ladakh region. The new twin-pod exhaust system is likely to feature an inbuilt catalytic converter. In the current model, the cat-con is placed inside a separate box behind the engine. The new design should increase the bike’s ground clearance and also reduce its kerb-weight.
If reports are to be believed, the facelifted Bajaj Dominar 400 will also receive a ride-by-wire throttle system, and updated instrumentation with features like a gear-position indicator, average fuel efficiency, distance to empty and instantaneous fuel economy.
The current generation Bajaj Dominar 400 employs a 373.2 cc, BS-IV compliant, single-cylinder, SOHC engine with fuel injection that is mated to a six-speed gearbox, with a standard slipper clutch. The liquid-cooled motor is capable of pumping out 35 PS of maximum power and 35 Nm of peak torque.
The new Bajaj Dominar 400 is expected to feature an updated engine with a DOHC (Double Overhead Cam) setup. It could offer better engine refinement and curb vibrations, while power figures could go slightly north. A report from September suggested that Bajaj Auto will soon " market new Dominars," which makes a release in early 2019 a strong possibility.
