The MG Hector has been an enormously successful product in India, even amidst the drastic slowdown in the auto industry. Over 3,500 units were sold in just two months of its launch and 28,000 bookings were made, as a result of which, the bookings had to be temporarily paused due to limited production. Now a report claims that the bookings will be reopened on 1 October 2019.
With the start of the festive season this year, comes an opportunity to garner more sales, and MG doesn't want to miss out on that and as has thus decided to reopen the bookings starting from next month.
MG has said that it is concentrating on ramping up the production to 3,000 monthly units at its Halol plant this month. This will help speed up deliveries, but people booking the vehicle next month may still have to wait till the beginning of 2020 to get their Hector delivered.
MG Hector's success in India can be largely credited to a number of factors including a long list of advanced features, bold exterior and obviously the aggressive pricing. Interestingly, MG Motor India has quoted the INR 12.18-16.88 lakh* price range as introductory, and therefore lies a possibility of a price hike in the near future.
