Expected in India next year.
Chinese auto portal 163.com has procured tell-all interior spyshots of the Mercedes GLC (next gen Mercedes GLK).
As per the accompanying report, the GLC will be introduced globally in June, while the Chinese launch would come towards the end of the year.
The dashboard is a direct lift from the C Class sedan, indicating the close connection between the cars. It features a centrally positioned free-standing LCD display, five circular air vents, Touchpad-equipped COMAND infotainment system, and a walnut brown finish on the center console.
Riding on the MRA Platform that debuted on the C-Class last year, the GLK is designed to have the new SUV family look with a twin-slat grille, peeled-back headlamps and will feature chrome trim near the lower intake and on the roofrails. An upward sweeping shoulder line, a softly sloping roofline, tailgate mounted spoiler and bumper-integrated dual exhaust round up the external features.
The report adds that the Chinese-spec GLC will employ 2.0-liter and 3.0-liter turbocharged petrol engines. An AMG version with the new 4.0-liter V8 producing upwards of 475 hp is expected to break cover later on in its lifecycle.
Mercedes India's managing director & CEO Eberhard Kern had earlier told IAB that the GLC will, unlike the current model, be developed in RHD, and launch in India.
