Mercedes has confirmed that the GLC will be unveiled on June 17. The vehicle will go on sale later this year and can be expected in India in the first half of 2016 enabling Mercedes India to compete with the BMW X3 and the Audi Q5 directly for the first time.

The interior of the test mule shows that the C-Class' dashboard and soft components have been carried over without obvious changes. It has the same centrally positioned free-standing LCD display, five round air vents, Touchpad-equipped COMAND infotainment, and a glossy black center console.
The mechanical carriage of the GLC is the same as the C-Class. The MRA (Mercedes Rear-wheel Architecture) can support a wide range of powertrains including a plug-in hybrid. At the launch, the GLC could employ turbocharged 2.0L and 3.0L engines with an AMG version to come later packed with the AMG GT's 4.0L V8.
