Gets a price reduction of 1.44 Lakhs (ex-showroom price wise).
Mercedes-Benz India announced today that the Mercedes GLA will now follow the CKD route with assembly taking place at its production facility in Chakan, Pune. With this move, the new Mercedes GLA is now priced at 31.31 Lakhs for the GLA200 CDI Style and 34.25 Lakhs for GLA200 CDI Sport variant (Ex-showroom Pune).
The GLA was launched in India in September as a CBU model, but increasing demand prompted the company to add the A-Class-based crossover into its localization portfolio. This is the first product based on the MFA front-wheel-drive platform that is locally assembled in India.
The crossover's dimensions measure at 4,417 mm in length, 1,804 mm in width and 1,494 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,699 mm. The ground clearance of the GLA stands at 183 mm, while the boot space is good for 421 liters (1,235 liters with the seats folded).
It comes standard with bi-xenon headlamps with LED DRLs, 18-inch alloy rims, and a reverse camera. Inside, it features a smaller COMAND infotainment system running on a free-standing display, premium leather upholstery, steering mounted paddle shifters and a Harman Kardon music system.

For now, the diesel variants of the GLA are locally assembled, which sources power from a 2.2-liter engine producing 135 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. It is paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission which sends the drive to the front wheels. As of now, an AWD 4MATIC system is not offered, despite its tough looks.
