Although the front end looks identical to its 4-door brother, it adopts a coupe roofline that flows into the rear end. The taillights are a new horizontal wrap-around LED-powered set similar in design to the bigger S-Class Coupe, while the lower fascia is updated for a sporty look, complete with a dual exhaust system.
The interior may remain largely identical to the sedan version, save for a few small upgrades that could improve the dynamic appeal. If so, it will retain the award-winning interior with the free-standing COMAND infotainment display paired to a Touchpad controller, 3-spoke multifunction sports steering wheel, ARTICO leather upholstery with contrast stitching, and glossy black center console.
Being based on the new MRA platform, the BMW 4-Series rival will borrow the engine lineup from the C-Class sedan, which includes a range of four cylinder petrol and diesel engines, a 3.0-liter V6 engine in a standard as well as C 450 AMG Sport variant, and a full fledged C63 AMG Coupe powered by the 4.0L V8 (M178) twin turbo in two power states: 476 PS & 650 Nm in the base model and 510 PS & 700 Nm in the S version.
It's unknown if the new C-Class Coupe will adopt the sedan's 7G-TRONIC transmission or the upcoming GLC crossover's 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic unit.

Mercedes will first unveil the regular and AMG Sport variants this year, followed by the C63 AMG in 2016, reportedly. Given that the demand for 2-door mid-size luxury coupes are weak in India, Mercedes India may not consider bringing it to the country.
