After seeing the exterior of the Maruti YL1 Sedan (the Maruti SX4 successor), Team BHP today gives us the interiors of the upcoming C-Segment sedan.
We'll first talk about this exterior image which shows us a possible alloy wheel design. If you're an avid car buff, you can easily relate this design to that of the Kizashi's (16-spoke design) and Team BHP reports of a 16-inch rim size with 195 section tires on the top-end variants.
Moving on to the steering wheel, it seems to be lifted from the Maruti Ertiga/Swift with the same steering mounted audio controls. What seems to be surprising is that even though the rest of the car sports a dual-tone beige interior, the steering wheel is all black, unlike the Ertiga's beige-black interplay. However, there are a secondary set of buttons which look like the Bluetooth controls for the mobile phone.
You can also notice the door handles and the power window switches, which surprise-surprise, is also lifted from lower models in the lineup. Coming to the center console, there seems to be some sort of a wood finish on the upper half of the dash. A music system and automatic climate AC (with a digital display, the current SX4 does not have a display) can also be seen.
Thanks to the rev-counter which ends at 6,000rpm, we can assert that this is a diesel model, presumably using the Fiat 1.3-liter MultiJet and producing 90PS. The petrol is expected to be the 1.4-liter K-Series which also does duty on the Ertiga.
We expect to see the Maruti YL1 at the 2014 Auto Expo in February.
