Soon after the exterior of the Maruti XL6, its interior has leaked in spy shots. The launch of the new model is scheduled to take place on 21 August.

The Maruti XL6 has the same interior design as the Maruti Ertiga, but the all-black theme and the leather seat upholstery make it stand apart.

As seen in the above picture, the Maruti XL6 will have the same interior design as the Maruti Ertiga. Its cabin will be differentiated with more comfort and convenience features. First things first, unlike the donor model, it will have seats for six occupants, including two captain seats in the middle row. The additional equipment will include leather seat upholstery, cruise control, automatic headlamps and automatic wipers.

The exterior of the Maruti XL6 is very similar to that of the Maruti Ertiga, but there are noticeable differences at the front. The black hexagonal grille featuring twin chrome slats stretching across the width and connecting the LED DRL of the newly designed headlamps, the chunkier bumper, the repositioned fog lamps and a faux skid plate help it give a unique identity at the front. The headlamps are likely LED units. The Maruti XL6 gets a more rugged look with the use of black cladding on the lower body, silver-finished roof rails and silver garnish on the rocker panels. Its black alloy wheels carry the same design as that of its donor model. The differences at the rear include a more muscular bumper and faux skid plate.

The number '6' in the Maruti XL6' name is likely after its 6-seat layout.

The Maruti XL6 is expected to employ the K15 SMART HYBRID petrol engine which delivers 77 kW (104.6 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm at 4,400 rpm in its current BS-IV configuration. This engine comes paired to a 5-speed MT or a 4-speed AT, and returns a mileage of 19.34 km/l (MT)/18.69 km/l (AT) in the donor model.
