First sub-4m SUV from Maruti for mainstream segment.
Maruti's sub-4m SUV, the Maruti Vitara Brezza, was spied testing in NCR, courtesy of Gaadi. It's expected to debut at the Auto Expo 2016, nearly four years after the company showcased the India-specific Maruti XA-Alpha sub-4m concept SUV.
The Vitara Brezza features a distinct front end that is characterized by small headlamps with LED DRLs, which flow into the vertical slat grille housing the Suzuki badge. The bumper sports a sizable radiator grille, and round foglamps on either side.
It is expected to offer ABS, EBD and dual front airbags as standard. Other features in the pipeline include reverse parking sensors with parking camera, a touchscreen SmartPlay entertainment system, keyless entry and push button start, multifunction steering wheel and automatic climate control.

The Vitara Brezza will be powered by the 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine (Fiat-developed engine) or the 1.2-liter K-Series petrol engine, which could get the option of a CVT in addition to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It's unclear if the Vitara Brezza will get Suzuki's SHVS mild hybrid tech in the diesel variant.
The Vitara Brezza will slot in the segment that comprises of the Mahindra TUV300 and Ford EcoSport, when launched. It will be sold through Maruti’s regular chain of dealerships, rather than the NEXA outlets, according to reports.
