The list of exempted vehicles from Delhi's Odd-Even scheme extends to CNG, hybrid and electric vehicles, among other criteria such as emergency response vehicles, woman-only vehicle and VIP-owned cars. According to a report on Autocar India, Maruti's SHVS-equipped cars, the Ertiga and Ciaz, fall under the hybrid category and are thus exempt from the rule as well.
Apart from being exempt from the Odd-Even rationing scheme, the Ertiga SHVS and Ciaz SHVS also benefit from the FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) initiative and qualify for a subsidy of INR 13,000.
The SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) made its Indian debut on the Ciaz, and was introduced on the Ertiga with the facelifted model. It features an ISG (Integrated Starter Generator), auto start-stop and a brake energy recuperation system. This improved fuel efficiency claims from 26.21 km/l to 28.09 km/l on the Ciaz, while the Ertiga saw an 18 percent improvement to 24.52 km/l.

The SHVS technology is standard on all diesel-powered variants of the Ciaz and Ertiga. The Ciaz SHVS is priced from INR 8.23 lakhs to INR 10.17 lakhs, whereas the Ertiga SHVS costs from INR 7.55 lakhs to INR 9.25 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi.
