To borrow engines from the Swift.
GaadiWaadi has posted spyshots of a top-end Maruti Vitara Brezza on test, ahead of the compact SUV's world premiere at the Auto Expo 2016. As seen in these spyshots, the Vitara Brezza, which went by the codename 'YBA', gets projector headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, 205-section tyres, subtle roof rails, integrated rear spoiler and a rear wiper/washer.
The Vitara Brezza will rival the likes of the Mahindra TUV300 and the Ford EcoSport when launched. It will be based on a modified version of the Swift's platform, though several parts, components and engines will be shared with the hatchback.
To recap, the Vitara Brezza will be powered by the 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine (Fiat-developed engine) or the 1.2-liter K-Series petrol engine, which could get the option of a CVT in addition to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
On the feature front, the Vitara Brezza is anticipated to offer ABS, EBD and dual front airbags as standard. Other features are expected to include reverse parking sensors and parking camera, a touchscreen SmartPlay entertainment system, keyless entry and push button start, multifunction steering wheel and automatic climate control.

When launched, the Vitara Brezza will be sold through Maruti's regular chain of dealerships and not the NEXA outlets, reports have stated.
