Will be exported to related markets in South Asia.
The Economic Times reports that the Maruti Vitara Brezza will be exported from India to other countries, post its market launch in our country. It will make its world premiere at the Auto Expo 2016 on February 3.
Maruti's Executive Director for Engineering, CV Raman, has divulged that the Vitara Brezza was engineered for global markets, and would be exported to related markets in South Asia. It is the first product to be fully developed by Maruti’s R&D division in India, and comes nearly four years after the company unveiled the XA Alpha concept SUV at the Auto Expo 2012.
The Vitara Brezza represents a significant step for Maruti Suzuki as it showcases the capabilities of Maruti's R&D team and their position in parent company Suzuki Motor Corp's global product development. Suzuki plans to annnounce 20 new models by the end of the decade, of which 15 models could be launched in India. Maruti would design and develop on Suzuki platforms and engines for products specific to India and related markets.

The Vitara Brezza is expected to include a choice between the 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine or a 1.2-liter K-Series petrol engine, which could get the option of a CVT (or an AMT) in addition to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It’s unclear if the Vitara Brezza will get Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid tech in the diesel variant.
