Maruti Suzuki will begin its new year by launching the Maruti Celerio at the Auto Expo that is to be inaugurated in Greater Noida on the 5th of February. The company has formally announced the start of bookings, and is highlighting the car's features through its website.
Our friends at Autos Arena have a few more images from a dealership of the A-Star replacement. The car will launch in three variants - LXi, VXi and ZXi. According to reports, the LXi and ZXi trims would get AMT technology as an option.
The top-end model would get ABS, height-adjustable driver seat, central locking, electrically adjustable door mirrors, tilt steering with audio buttons, Bluetooth telephony and a 2-DIN audio system with CD/USB/Aux support.
In the engine bay, the familiar 998 cc K Series petrol engine that develops 67 bhp @ 6,000 RPM and 9.1 kgm @ 3,500 RPM hums, pairing by default to a 5-speed manual transmission.
As for numbers, the car measures 3.6 m long, 1.6 m wide and stands 1.56 m tall, with a wheelbase of 2.42 m, a ground clearance of 165 mm and a boot capacity of 235 liters.
