Fly-Wheel has posted some spyshots of the Maruti Baleno BoosterJet variant which was snapped on test in Kochi. The model could be launched in India in the future, while the next showcase pertaining to the Baleno would remain the Baleno RS which will be premiered at the 2016 Auto Expo.
The BoosterJet version of the Baleno will be produced in India for export to over 100 markets worldwide. Officials of Maruti Suzuki confirmed to Indian Autos Blog that the engine will be fully manufactured in India.
The hatchback is currently offered in India with the choice of a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine or a 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel motor. The export version, badged the Suzuki Baleno, will be installed with an all-new 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 110 hp and 170 Nm. There will be a second petrol unit, which is the 1.25-litre DualJet engine that is equipped with the SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki).

While the 1.25-litre unit will not be launched in India, the 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine could be introduced in India at a later stage. This engine could be showcased at the Auto Expo beside the Maruti Baleno RS.
