The Mahindra S201 was spied testing in Bengaluru recently. MotorOctane reader Vinayak has posted a spy shot that partially reveals its interior.
The Mahindra S201 is essentially a reskinned version of the SsangYong Tivoli. It has different front and rear fascias to get the Mahindra family look. Inside, the large central display for the infotainment system and controls look similar to those of the SsangYong Tivoli. The steering wheel design, from the little that is visible, looks identical to that of the Mahindra U321. The switchgear on the driver-side door panel comes off the SsangYong Tivoli.
The Mahindra S201’s specifications will also differ from that of the SsangYong Tivoli. While the latter has a length of 4.2 metres, the former’s length will not exceed 4.0 metres so to attracts lower tax. For the same reason, Mahindra will offer it with downsized 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine and 1.5L turbocharged diesel engines.
