Reported to rival the Maruti Wagon R on price.
The Mahindra S101 has been spied in a new camouflage on the old Mumbai-Pune highway, by Carwale. The model is expected to be named the Mahindra XUV100 and would be launched in the third week of January 2016.
The styling of the XUV100 was recently revealed when it was spied during its ad shoot on Carter road in Mumbai. Reported to rival the Maruti Wagon R and the other small cars like the Chevrolet Beat on price, the XUV100 is expected to start from INR 4 lakhs (ex-showroom). It will be offered in petrol and diesel versions, with manual and automated manual transmissions.
The petrol version is expected to be powered by an all-new 1.2-litre three-cylinder motor while the diesel model is likely to use the 1.5-litre three-cylinder mHawk 80 diesel engine featured on the Mahindra TUV300, in a more economical state of tune. The engine produces 84 bhp and 230 Nm on the TUV300.
