The Quanto facelift is expected to be branded 'Canto'.
According to a report on MotorBeam, Mahindra will launch the Quanto facelift and the Genio facelift at the forthcoming Auto Expo 2016, scheduled to take place in the first week of February 2016.
The Quanto facelift, when launched, is expected to be called the Mahindra Canto and will see several cosmetic and mechanical changes. The front fascia of the Quanto will ditch the Xylo-inspired looks, and will instead be given Mahindra’s SUV-look, with new headlights and daytime running lights, a new grille and hood scoop and front bumper.
Inside, reports suggest that the Quanto facelift will get better seats with improved cushioning and better plastics on the dashboard. The infotainment system would also be upgraded with Mahindra's BlueSense application.
Under the hood, Mahindra is likely to replace the 1.5-liter mCR100 diesel engine with the more fuel efficient mHawk80 diesel engine found on the TUV300. This engine develops 84 hp and 230 Nm of torque on the TUV300 and also comes with a 5-speed automated manual transmission.
Coming to the Genio, revealing images have shown the Xylo-based pickup with an all-new front fascia characterized by slender headlights, a new grille and bumper. However, the mechanicals of the Genio facelift are expected to remain untouched. The pickup uses a 2.5-liter CRDe diesel engine that produces 75 bhp.
