A red coloured Mahindra KUV100 has been snapped inside and out by a Team-BHP member, ahead of its launch on January 15. The model is expected to be priced in the range of INR 4-6 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Targeted at the youth, the KUV100 will be the company's most affordable passenger vehicle that is marketed as a compact SUV. It is the second Mahindra model to ride on a monocoque platform after the flagship product, the Mahindra XUV500. It will compete with high volume products Maruti Wagon R, Maruti Celerio, Hyundai i10, Ford Figo and the upcoming Tata Zica.
To be available in four main variants - K2, K4, K6 and K8 - and three sub-variants - K2+, K4+ and K6+ which add dual front airbags, the KUV100 will be offered in seven colours.
All seven variants of the Mahindra KUV100 would be available in petrol as well as diesel versions. The petrol engine is the new mFalcon G80 1.2-litre three-cylinder unit and the diesel motor is the new mFalcon D75 1.2-litre three-cylinder mill. Both engines will be offered only with a five-speed manual transmission, while AMT-equipped models could be introduced in the next phase.
