Market launch on January 6, 2016.
Courtesy of Bharath Autos, here is another revealing set of spyshots that show the exterior and interior of the Mahindra Genio facelift, which will be branded the Mahindra Imperio when launched next month (January 6, 2016).
As seen in images, the Imperio gets a redesigned front fascia with a 'toothed-grille', sleeker headlight enclosures, circular foglight enclosures, and a new front bumper. However, over to the side, the design of the Imperio's door is unmistakable for anything but a Xylo (the Imperio/Genio is based on the MPV).
The spyshot of the interior shows that the Imperio will largely continue unchanged in comparison to the Genio: The design of the steering wheel, instrument cluster and center console remain unaltered. However, the Imperio gets the Power and Eco driving modes that are seen on the Mahindra Maxximo Plus (the driver can choose the Power mode when driving on inclines for maximum engine power, whereas the Eco mode will ensure better fuel efficiency).
Under the hood, the Imperio for the Indian market is expected to continue using the 2.5-liter four-cylinder mDI CRDe diesel engine which develops 75 hp and 220 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

For the Indian market, the Imperio will be offered only with 4x2, whereas for export markets, those including African and Australian markets, the Imperio is expected with 4x4 arrangement and the more powerful 2.2-liter mHawk engine.
