The India-made Yamaha R15 V3.0 Monster Edition has been launched in Bangladesh. The bike is retailed in Bangladesh by Yamaha's local partner ACI Motors. The Monster Edition costs BDT 4.95 lakhs (INR 4.21 lakh). In comparison, the standard model is priced from BDT 4.85 lakhs (INR 4.12 lakh).
Just like the Yamaha R15 V3.0 Monster Energy edition retailed in India, the MotoGP-inspired bike in Bangladesh features conventional telescopic fork up front and a monoshock with preload adjustability at the rear. The engine is the same 155 cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) mill. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, it produces 19.3 PS of power and 14.7 Nm of torque.
If purchased before 31 August 2019, buyers will get a cashback of BDT 10,000 (INR 8,501.16). After that date, the cashback will be reduced to BDT 5,000 (INR 4,250.58). Besides that, the features list is the same. Key features include slipper clutch, split LED headlamps, LCD instrumentation, dual-channel ABS, gear position indicator and gear shift indicator.
In India, Yamaha will start launching BS-VI compliant motorcycles in November 2019 and BS-VI compliant scooters in January 2020. The company's senior management has confirmed that the BS-VI upgrade will result in a price hike of 10-15%. The company has confirmed that it will be fitting a Side Stand Switch in its models. This technology prevents the engine from starting when the prop (side) stand is engaged.
