Here is a recap of the two wheelers that were featured at the Auto Expo 2016, from all the brands ranging from Aprilia to Yamaha.
Aprilia
Piaggio India showcased the Aprilia SR 150 at the expo. The stall also featured the Aprilia RSV4 RF (Factory Works) and the Aprilia Tuono V4.
BMW Motorrad
The BMW G310R was showcased at the BMW India stall, alongside the BMW S1000RR, BMW S1000XR, BMW R1200GS and the BMW R nineT.
DSK Motowheels
Four new motorcycles were unveiled and announced for launch in the country in the coming months, including the Benelli BX250, Benelli Tornado Naked T-135, Benelli Tornado 300 and the Benelli TRK 502. The company also unveiled the ABS versions of the Benelli TNT 600i and TNT 600GT, and showcased the fully accessorised version of the Benelli TNT 25. The Benelli Tornado 1130 was an addition at the stall.
Hero MotoCorp
Hero had four major unveils at the Expo in the presence of their brand ambassador and Bollywood star, Ranbir Kapoor. The models were the Hero Xtreme 200S, Hero XF3R concept, Hero Duet-E and the Hero Splendor 110 iSmart.
The Hero HX250R was displayed at the event with its name cut short to Hero HX250. The company also presented the 2016/updated versions of their existing models at the Expo, all of which received minor cosmetic change mostly limited to new body graphics. They were Hero Splendor Pro, Hero Glamour, Hero Passion Pro, Hero Xtreme Sports, Hero Karizma and Karizma ZMR, Hero Maestro Edge and the Hero Duet.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India
HMSI unveiled their second self-developed concept named the Honda CX-02, and took the curtains off the Honda Navi. The latter was launched at the expo and was displayed in a wide assortment including two design concepts, three interpretations (Adventure, Street and Dirt), two accessorised versions and in all five different colours.
The new introductions at the Expo included the Matt Grey colour option for the Honda CB Unicorn 160, the 2016 Honda Dream Neo with mildly updated styling, same with the 2016 Honda CD 110 Dream Deluxe except it is a new variant, and the company announced the return of the Honda CB Unicorn 150 in the market.
Apart from the above, the 2016 Honda Africa Twin was presented and it was announced for local assembly from mid-2016, the 2016 Honda Goldwing was on display at the Honda Cars India stall, and the Honda Neowing tilting three-wheeled hybrid vehicle concept and the Honda EV Cub concept that were unwrapped at the 2015 EICMA.
The existing two wheelers were also on display, including the recently introduced Honda CB Shine SP and the updated Honda Dio.
Indian Motorcycles
The new Blue Diamond Indian Roadmaster and the Pearl White Indian Chief Classic were the showstoppers of the event. They were accompanied by the existing models including the Indian Chief Dark Horse, Indian Chief Vintage, Indian Chieftain and the Indian Scout.
Mahindra Two Wheelers
MTWL displayed two concepts of the Mahindra Mojo, one was an adventure version and the other was a scrambler interpretation. The company also displayed a large number of accessories, self-developed and third party on three custom painted Mojos. Also on display was the recently launched Mahindra Gusto 125.
The Mahindra Racing division unveiled the 2016 Mahindra Moto3 race bike, the Mahindra MGP30, and their Formula E car, both of which are set to hit the track this year.
The GenZe by Mahindra was also unveiled at the Mahindra Two Wheelers section.
Moto Guzzi
The Piaggio Group showcased the Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber, V9 Roamer, Moto Guzzi Audace and the Moto Guzzi Eldorado. The first two are yet to be launched while the two other models are already on sale at Piaggio Motoplex outlets.
Peugeot Motorcycles
The Mahindra-owned brand displayed three of its scooters which are being considered for the Indian market. They were Peugeot Speedfight 4, Peugeot Django and the Peugeot Metropolis 400i RS.
Piaggio
The Piaggio Medley 125, Piaggio Liberty i-get 125, Piaggio Fly 125 and the Piaggio MP3 300 Lt Sport ABS were presented at the Expo.
Suzuki Motorcycle India
SMIL presented the 2016 Suzuki Access 125, the Suzuki Gixxer SF with Fuel-Injected engine, Gixxer SF in a new colour, the same with rear disc brake and the Gixxer with rear disc brake. The recently launched Suzuki Hayate EP joined the lineup.
The company also unveiled two dirt bikes, the 2016 Suzuki RM-Z250 and the 2016 Suzuki RMX450Z, and its two ATVs that were launched last year - the Suzuki Ozark 250 and the Suzuki QuadSport Z400. Also on display were the Suzuki Gixxer Cup race bike and the 2016 GSX-RR MotoGP racer.
The existing models in the company's superbike portfolio were showcased, and the company gauged the response for the 2016 Suzuki Burgman 650 Executive power scooter at the show.
Triumph Motorcycles India
The new range of Bonneville and the 2016 Speed Triple were the highlights of the Triumph booth. The 2016 Bonneville T120, T120 Black and the Bonneville Street Twin were launched at the event, leaving behind the 2016 Bonneville Thruxton and the Thruxton R to be launched in the coming months.
TVS Motor Company
TVS unveiled three concepts each representing a different dimension of the two wheeler industry. They were the TVS Akula 310 Racing Concept, TVS X21 Concept Racer and the TVS ENTORQ21 Scooter Concept.
The recently launched TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the new TVS Victor were also on display, which shared the stall with some existing TVS products and the made-in-Indonesia TVS Dazz DFI.
UM Motorcycles
The UM Renegade Commando, Renegade Sport S and the Renegade Classic were unveiled and launched at the Expo.
Vespa
The Piaggio Group introduced the Vespa 946 Armani 125 and the Vespa GTS 300 to the Indian audience at the show, and showcased the existing Vespa SXL 150, VXL 150 and the Vespa 125 range.
India Yamaha Motor
Yamaha India unveiled and launched the Yamaha MT-09 in the presence of their brand ambassador and Bollywood star, John Abraham.
The Yamaha Cygnus Ray-ZR was unveiled, the Auto Expo-specific Yamaha Fascino X Special Edition was showcased, the Yamaha NMax scooter that is popular in Indonesia was presented to gather feedback for India, and existing models like the Yamaha Saluto, Yamaha Alpha, Yamaha FZ Version 2.0, Yamaha SZ-RR Version 2.0, Yamaha R15, Yamaha R15S, Yamaha R3, Yamaha R1M, and the Yamaha VMAX cruiser were on show.
