India Yamaha Motor has showcased the 2016 Yamaha R1M and the 2015 Yamaha R3 at the Auto Expo 2016 in Greater Noida. Both super sport motorcycles are available for order in India.
2016 Yamaha R1M:
Offered in Silver Blu Carbon colour, the Yamaha R1M was launched in April last year. It is imported as CBU and priced at INR 29.43 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The 200 kg motorcycle that is restricted to track riding, is powered by a 998 cc liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine that produces 200 PS at 13,500 rpm and 112.4 Nm of torque at 11,500 rpm, and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The track-bred machine features am aluminium deltabox frame, dual 320 mm disc brake upfront, a 220 mm disc brake at the rear, 120/70 ZR17M/C (58W) front tyre, 200/55 ZR17M/C (78W) rear tyre, a 17-litre fuel tank and 130 mm of ground clearance.
2015 Yamaha R3:
Imported as CKD from Indonesia, the YZF-R3 is priced at INR 3.26 lakhs. It was launched in August last year in Racing Blue and Black Lightening colours.
Weighing 169 kg, the R3 is powered by a 321 cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine with DOHC and four valves, that produces 42 PS at 10,750 rpm and 29.6 Nm at 9,000 rpm, and is mated to a six-speed transmission. It features a 298 mm disc brake upfront, a 220 mm disc brake at the rear, dual channel ABS as standard, 110/70-17M/C 54H tubeless tyre at the front and 140/70-17M/C 66H tubeless tyre at the rear.
