Since the demise of the old Octavia, Skoda has kept mum about its successor. There were various rumors circulating in the market about a mysterious car called ‘Felicia’ which is supposed to succeed our Octavia.
Unfortunately, this mysterious car was always spoken about. There was no tangible information about it. There were many speculations and countless rendering about the car, but Skoda did not budge from its stance. But now the cat is out of the bag!
The new Skoda Felicia has been spotted testing in northern Sweden. Apparently, it has the same body of the old Octavia but has a Golf front end. However, this is still an early prototype, so we can’t really comment on the final design.
The test mule also revealed a label identifying the MQB platform, in particular, the IS3-MQB-A. We expect the Felicia to have the same engine 1.6l engine (MPI & TDI) as the Vento.
If the testing goes well, Felicia will enter into production later this year and will show up in India by the year end. It will be priced in such a way that it will fill the space between the Polo and the Vento. It will be aggressively priced to take on its rivals such as Etios, Logan, Manza and DZire.
However, will Skoda revive the Octavia badge or call it Felicia is a question that still remains unanswered
