The 2018 Suzuki Ertiga (2018 Maruti Ertiga) will have its world premiere (at IIMS 2018) in Indonesia, but it will enter production in India first as per a report from Autonetmagz.
The next-gen Suzuki Ertiga’s market launch in Indonesia was expected to coincide with its debut as dealerships have already started pre-orders. In that case, it was logical to expect Suzuki manufacturing the all-new model locally, as that ensures the fastest time to market, but that is not the case.
The first-gen Suzuki Ertiga sold in Indonesia is reliant on the Indian factory for components. Citing undisclosed sources, the report says that Indonesia will get the next-gen Suzuki Ertiga as a CBU import from India initially following which a localization program would begin. Longer and wider than the first-gen model, the next-gen Suzuki Ertiga will have a more contemporary exterior design and a dashboard layout similar to that of the third-gen Maruti Dzire. It will employ a new 1.5-litre petrol engine and go against the likes of Mitsubishi Xpander.

The 2018 Maruti Ertiga will come likely with the aforementioned petrol engine. Its market launch is said to take place this August.
