The second generation 2018 Maruti Ertiga will borrow the Dzire's dashboard as per a report from AutonetMagz. It will, reportedly, be unveiled on April 19 in Indonesia at IIMS 2018. Suzuki dealerships in Indonesia have already commenced bookings for the Ertiga.

Next-gen Ertiga's dashboard will be nearly identical to the Dzire's (pictured).

Much like the outgoing model, the next-gen Ertiga shares the underpinning with the current Dzire and Swift. The report states that the similarities will carry on into the cabin with subtle differences. The Ertiga may get a slightly different button layout and gear lever. While the Maruti Dzire's dashboard is nearly identical to that of the Swift, it gets differently shaped aircon control and centrally mounted aircon vents. The report adds that the seats will be different when compared to the Dzire and so will be the head unit. However, for the Indian market, expect Maruti to offer the top-end grades with the 7-inch Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system.

In terms of size, the new Ertiga will be bigger overall. Judging by the extended rear overhang seen in spy shots, the MPV is likely to feature increased third-row space and luggage space. It is based on a stretched version of the lightweight Heartect platform that underpins the Swift and Dzire. There is no word yet on changes to the engine lineup yet. The 1.3 L Fiat sourced DDiS200 engine currently in use is set to be phased out by 2020 and Suzuki has been working on a new 1.5 L diesel engine. At the time of launch, the 2018 Maruti Ertiga could be offered with the engines of the current model.
