Suzuki dealerships in Indonesia have started registering pre-orders for the next-gen Suzuki Ertiga (next-gen Maruti Ertiga), says a report from Kompas. The 2018 Suzuki Ertiga (2018 Maruti Ertiga) will debut at IIMS 2018 on the 19th of this month.
The original Maruti Ertiga was unveiled in India (at Auto Expo 2012), but with an increased focus on the MPV-dominated Indonesian market, Suzuki has decided to unveil the successor at IIMS 2018, as a Suzuki model. Dealerships are taking pre-orders for an amount of IDR 5 million (INR 23,600).
Moving to its second generation, the Ertiga will grow and incorporate a contemporary design. Spy shots disclose features like aggressive headlamps with projector lighting, hexagonal radiator grille, bigger tail lamps and a more rakish back glass. Like the outgoing model, the all-new model gets conventional rear doors.
The all-new Suzuki Ertiga will likely ride on a stretched version of the latest Suzuki Swift’s light and rigid Heartect platform. The 7-seat MPV’s specifications are currently unknown, but in Indonesia, it should remain a petrol-only offering. A bigger, more potent 1.5-litre petrol engine could replace the K14B 1.4-litre petrol engine. In India, the Maruti Suzuki-badged version may get a new 1.5-litre diesel engine developed by Suzuki in place of the Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel engine.

The next-gen Suzuki Ertiga’s market launch in Indonesia will coincide with its global debut. The next-gen Maruti Ertiga’s market launch is said to take place in August.
