The exterior and interior of the Indian-spec Jeep Compass Trailhawk have leaked online in images posted by Team-BHP forum member. The latest spy shots give away not only the styling but also the features of the off-road-oriented trim.
The interior spy shots confirm that the Trailhawk grade packs a 7-inch full-colour instrument display and an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation - both unavailable in any of the existing equipment lines (Sport, Sport Plus, Longitude, Limited, Limited Plus). Also, the instrument panel on the has red highlights, and so does the speaker bezels. Another difference from the other equipment lines will be red accent stitching.
Another major revelation from the latest spy shots is the automatic transmission, a 9-speed torque converter unit. Under the hood, there's the BS-VI 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engine. The Trailhawk will be the only grade offering a diesel engine with an automatic transmission in our market, a combination that has been eagerly awaited since the model's launch in mid-2017. That, along with the exclusive equipment on offer, should be enough to draw customers not that keen on to spend some INR 28-30 lakh (ex-showroom) on a Jeep Compass just for the higher off-road capabilities it offers.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk has unique fascias with 30-degree approach angle, 24-degree breakover angle and a 34-degree departure angle, black hood decal, exclusive 17-inch off-road alloy wheels and several other distinctive exterior elements. Strangely, while a red tow hook is present at the rear, red tow hooks at the front seem to have been omitted in the Indian-spec model. Exclusive fitments include the Active Drive Low 4x4 system with 20:1 crawl ratio and the Jeep Selec-Terrain traction control system with an additional 'Rock' mode as well. Thanks to an off-road suspension, the ground clearance is higher than in other trims.
