Elite i20-based Cross is expected to launch on March 9.
Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. Shruchet, snapped the upcoming Hyundai Elite i20 Cross on the Chennai-Bangalore highway recently. The i20-based crossover is expected to launch in the month of March this year.
Based on the popular Elite i20 hatchback, the Cross is expected to feature roof rails, new alloy wheels, skid guards for the front and rear bumper, LED daytime running lights with projector headlights, and side body cladding. As reported earlier (and seen in the above spyshot), the i20 Cross's ground clearance will be increased over the Elite i20 for it to better tackle bad roads.
Hyundai is expected to offer the Elite i20 Cross with the same engines as that of the Elite i20. These include a 1.2-liter VTVT petrol and a 1.4-liter CRDi diesel. The petrol engine is paired to a 5-speed manual whereas the diesel gets a 6-speed manual.
