Global premiere will take place in India.
These spyshots, snapped by TeamBHP member Mayank, show the Hyundai Creta compact SUV testing on the streets of New Delhi ahead of its planned launch in the second half of this calendar year. However, reports point out that the Creta, based on the Hyundai ix25 sold in China, is likely to have its introduction in the next couple of months.
The Creta will be sold in global markets, but India will be the first market for it, Hyundai said in a statement earlier in the week. Power for the Creta is reported to come from 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, borrowed from the Hyundai Verna. A base variant with a 1.4-liter diesel engine is also on the cards.
The Creta, when launched will be equipped with features such as projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, diamond-cut 16-inch alloy wheels, a multifunction steering wheel, a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, smart entry with push button start, ABS, EBD and dual airbags, with an option of side and curtain airbags.
