West region led the sales growth.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) saw record-breaking sales on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya (April 21, 2015). The Japanese manufacturer sold 41,000 units (retail sales) on that day, marking a 50 percent growth over last year's sales.
The company said in a statement that the West region witnessed a growth of 60 percent, followed by Central India at 30 percent. Sales of the Dream series (Dream Neo, Dream Yuga and CD 110 Dream) saw a rise of 55 percent.
February this year saw HMSI launch a slew of updated products in the motorcycle and scooter segments: The 2015 model year Activa 3G, Dio and the 2015 model year CB Shine, Dream Yuga and Dream Neo. Honda is also planning an update for the Aviator, with an image of the updated scooter having leaked recently.

Last month, HMSI announced that it will expand production capacity of its third plant located in Karnataka. By the end of 2016, this plant which makes the Dream series and Activa, will have its capacity upped from 1.8 million units to 2.4 million units. In total, HMSI plans on having annual capacity of 6.4 million units (all plants put together).
