Likely to continue with the 110 cc engine.

February 2015 saw Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) unveil the 2015 model year Dio, Dream Yuga, Dream Neo, CB Shine, and not to forget, the Activa 3G. The premium scooter, Aviator, was missed on the podium, but this leaked image, courtesy of Motorbeam, shows that HMSI has not forgotten about its flagship scooter offering.

The Aviator gets a design overhaul for the 2015 model year, and looks much slimmer than the current model; the side panels especially seem to have reduced in bulk. Changes at the front include a shorter bumper, slimmer turn indicators, omission of the chrome highlight, and a mildly redesigned headlight.

The leaked image also suggests that the 2015 Aviator will come with larger tyres for increased ride comfort. HMSI will continue to offer a front disc brake and alloy wheels as part of the optional equipment.

The 2015 Aviator should continue with the tried-and-tested 109.2 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine borrowed from the Activa. This unit produces 8 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 8.77 Nm of torque 5,500 rpm, and is paired to the V-Matic transmission (CVT). The outgoing Aviator has a top-speed of 83 km/h and a fuel efficiency claim of 60 km/l (internal tests).

Despite the more powerful Activa 125, the Aviator is still the most expensive Honda scooter in India.

The report states that the 2015 Aviator will launch in the second half of this year, with a marginal increase in pricing. The updated Aviator will be part of HMSI's 15 new models for 2015.
