The Ford Ka family has been spotted testing together in Brazil by readers of Autossegredos.
The Ka hatchback and sedan are also in line to be launched in India next year. While Ford had shown the Ka sedan concept, named the Figo sedan concept, just before the Auto Expo, the hatchback has never been showcased in India. It must be noted that while the sedan concept shown in India was a sub-4 meter version, the sedan in Brazil is longer. The sedan in Brazil has no need to duck under the sub-4 meter mark, like it has to in India in order to avail excise benefits.
Currently, reports suggest that the new Ford Ka would be launched in Brazil in July, with the Ka sedan following at the Sao Paulo Auto Show in October.
Ford will utilise a new series of engines for the Ford Ka in Brazil. The ECOnetic engine will be manufactured out of a plant that Ford inaugurated earlier in April. Essentially, this engine is a derivative of the 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine. The new three-cylinder 1.0L Double Command motor develops 85 hp at 6,500 rpm and 105 Nm at 4,500 rpm, lacking turbocharging or direct injection, but uses variable valve timing technology.
